John C. Mueller practices principally in the area of environmental
law. Mr. Mueller has represented private industrial clients and public agency clients for more than twenty years.
He
has represented private clients in the petroleum products storage and vapor recovery industries; oil production and refining;
natural gas development and production; lead and aluminum recycling industries; landfill siting and landfill gas recovery
industries; waste-to-energy; pharmaceutical; paint and coatings; soaps and detergents; aerospace component manufacturing;
furniture manufacturing and finishing; automobile dealership and servicing; and trade associations.
Mr. Mueller’s
practice includes counseling clients on compliance/permitting issues, defending clients in enforcement actions, litigating
on behalf of clients in private cost recovery actions and advising purchasers, seller and lenders in connection with real
and industrial property transactions. Moreover, Mr. Mueller has represented private clients in matters pending before the
Regional Water Quality Control Board involving contamination due to dry cleaning operations (Ventura Co.) and heavy metals
(L.A. Co.)
On the public agency side, Mr. Mueller has represented several sanitation and water districts, providing
air quality advice, defense against citizen suits and nuisance suits. He has represented water districts in sewage spill
cases and biosolids contamination cases.
